SAFARI OVERVIEW

Contract rates are subject to change by season with the seasons for 2019 being:

Peak Season – 1 July to 31 October, 22 December 2019 to 1 January 2020

High Season – 2 January to 31 March, 16 June to 30 Jun, 1 November to 21 December 2019.

Low Season – 1 April to 15 June 2019.

  • The above quotes are in US Dollars and applicable all year round
  • In case of Beach extension request for a quote
  • Child rate 3 to 11 years is 50% of the Adult Rate
  • Holiday Surcharge – Easter

– Christmas 24, 25, 26, 31 December, 2019 and 1 January, 2020 is not included but can be provided on request.

  • All transport and game drives on road safaris will be in a 4×4 Landcruiser (with seven window seats) on private basis
  • Services of an English speaking driver-guide on private basis
  • All Transfers in Nairobi
  • Meals and accommodation as specified
  • All park fees and government taxes
  • 2 bottles of ½ litre mineral water per person per day on game drives
  • Flying doctor’s emergency evacuation cover

Day 1: Nairobi

Upon arrival at JKIA airport you will met by African Adventure Specialists’ representative be and transferred to Movenpick hotel for check in and remainder of the day at leisure.

Destination: Nairobi City

Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru

Leaving Nairobi, you travel west through Kenya’s fertile highlands, then suddenly to your left, the trees part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. Your panoramic journey will then take you past Lake Naivasha, with its Crescent Island and onto Lake Nakuru. The lake is was often coloured by a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Once in the park, there will be a game drive en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

Day 3: Lake Nakuru - Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early morning, breakfast leave the flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru behind and heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You’ll travel across the “breadbasket” of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the camp as the sun sets.

Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Optional Early Morning balloon safari ride (US$450.00 per person) across the Masai Mara plain. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Maasai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. See the great Migration where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, and enjoy yourselves! In the evening visit Maasai village at an extra cost payable direct.

Day 5: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast you’ll depart the Maasai Mara with game drive en route to Nairobi arriving early afternoon. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight back home.
