
The Selous Game Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometers. The park gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous. He was killed here during World War 1. Selous is famous for its elephants. Other species commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bushbuck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy then the Northern Parks. Excursions by 4×4 vehicle will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park.
Day by day:
Day 1: Day 1: Dar es Salaam
Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in Dar Es Salaam for the night
Dinner and overnight at Hotel Slip way (BB).
Day 2: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve
Pick up from DSM city center and proceed to Selous Game Reserve with picnic lunch,
Late afternoon boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp (L, D).
You will discover the Rufiji River by boat, encounter hippos and crocodiles in good numbers. Some 350 bird species have been recorded in the Selous Game Reserve. These are typical of miombo woodlands, and the bird life supported by Rufiji swamplands is of particular interest.
Day 3 + 4: Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve
You will have a full day in the Selous Game Reserve exploration of the Reserve by 4-wheel drive vehicle; will permit you to have good photographic opportunities and the chance to explore different sections of vast park.
Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp (B,L,D).
Day 5: Selous Game Reserve – Mikumi National Park
After early breakfast, you will start with morning walking safari
Later proceed to Mikumi National Park with picnic lunch
Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hills Tented Camp (B,L,D).
Walking safari will give you a particularly intimate feel for the African wilds.
It starts in the morning with a guidance of an armed ranger, takes 2 hours before you meet the driver at the reserve gate. Walking safaris offer a good chance of seeing giraffe, zebra, elephant, and good birding.
The journey to Mikumi is the most amazing and truly wild and untouched areas of Tanzania. The drive will take you up into the Uluguru Mountains across rivers and past small local villages and farms. The drive is tiring but possibly the most rewarding and adventurous on the Tanzania Tourist Circuit.
Day 6: Mikumi National Park – Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, proceed to Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch
Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge (B,L,D)
With 3,230 square kilometers coverage Mikumi National Park is well-known park in Tanzania. The park is well-known for its population of elephants, giraffes buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater Kudu, wildebeest, roan and sable antelope. Predators include tree-climbing lions (which are in large number), leopards, wild hunting dogs and black-backed jackal. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded here including Eurasian migrants such as red billed oxpecker, marabou stork and lilac breasted roller.
Day 7 + 8: Game drive in Ruaha National Park
After breakfast full day game drives in Ruaha National Park,
Dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge (B,L,D)
Covering 13,000 square kilometers. Its name comes from Ruaha River. Which is built overlooking the Great Ruaha River and it blends into its natural surroundings to enable visitors to feel themselves part of the wild.
Day 9: Ruaha National Park – Mikumi National Park
After breakfast drive with your picnic lunch to Mikumi. Relax at your lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Vuma Hills Tented Camp (B,L,D)
Day 10: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast morning game drive of the park
Later drive back to Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch (B, L)

TERMS OF PAYMENTS
- After issuance of invoice, 40% deposit to be received after 14 days so as we can secure the booking.
- 60% of the balance to be received 30 days before first day of service.
- All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and must be paid in U.S. dollars cash, or wire transfer.
- Where credit cards (visa, mastercard) are used, we impose a 3.9% charge as bank suffices charges.
- For wire transfer we do not impose any charges but bank charges must be sufficed by you.
- All the payments should be FREE FROM BANK CHARGES.
TERMS OF CANCELLATION
Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to Cancellation fee. Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing, and shall only be effective upon its receipt and acknowledgment.
The following cancellation fee will be subject to cancelled bookings:
- 14 days or Less prior to arrival date: 100%
- More than 14 days but less than 30 days: 50%
- More than 30 Days but less than 45 days: 20%
- More than 45 days: 0%
No refund will be given to the following:
- Itinerary Amended After Departure.
- There will be no refunds from African Adventure Specialists Ltd for any unused portions of the tour.
- Lost Travel Time or Substitution of Facilities.
- No tour refund is available should you fail to join a tour or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion.
