PASSENGER INFORMATION
• Passengers should bring soft sided bags on safaris as our vehicles have limited luggage space.
• All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for any internal flights.
• Baggage on internal flights is strictly limited to 15kgs per person (including hand luggage). Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
• Passengers arriving in TANZANIA will be asked to present a valid Yellow
7. Departure
Day by day:
Day 1: Dar Es Salaam to Udzungwa
Karibu – Welcome to Tanzania. Pick up from DSM city center and proceed to Mikumi National Park with picnic lunch.
Afternoon, game drive of the park. Dinner and overnight at Tan Swiss Lodge (L,D)
The journey will see you leaving behind Dar es Salaam and the humid, low lying coastal belt. The highway crosses the hills of the coastal hinterland. The road then dips down onto scrub – covered plains. Tall termite hills are seen along the roadside together with local Masai like tribe, selling beaded necklaces and belts. You then pass the sisal plantations and begin to get glimpses of the beautiful Uluguru Mountains that soar above the plains and the town of Morogoro towards Mikumi National Park
Day 2: Hiking in Udzungwa Mountain National Park
After breakfast, drive to Udzungwa gate with your picnic lunch for hiking. Dinner and overnight at Udzunga Forest Camp (B,L,D)
The Udzungwa Mountain National Park, which is 1990 sq.kms. Is the first terrestrial National park in Tanzania. It is well known for its biologically diverse forest, with approximately 20 – 30% out of 200 animals and plant species that grow here not found any where in the world. Still it is really beautiful place for hiking. It is one of the top ten forests for bird conservation in Africa.
Wildlife: Variety of animal species can be found here, including water buffalo, elephants, and full of reptiles and snakes and more.
Day 3: Udzungwa Mountains National Park – Ruaha National Park
Pick up from your camp/lodge and proceed to Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Tungamalenga Lodge (B,L,D)
The roads climb the Kitonga hills which are part of the Udzungwa Mountains. The road then follows the Great Ruaha river and then climbs the Great Rift Espcapment and then past Iringa town and onto Ruaha National Park.
Day 4: Game Viewing in Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, full day game drive in Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch, Dinner and overnight at Tungamalenga Lodge (B,L,D) Covering 13,000 square kilometers. Its name comes from Ruaha River. Which is built overlooking the Great Ruaha River and it blends into its natural surroundings to enable visitors to feel themselves part of the wild.
Day 5: Game Viewing in Ruaha National Park
After breakfast, full day game drive in Ruaha National Park with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight at Tungamalenga Lodge (B,L,D)
Day 6: Ruaha National Park – Mikumi National Park
After breakfast, drive with your picnic lunch to Mikumi National Park. Relax at your camp. Dinner and overnight at Tan Swiss Lodge (B,L,D)
Day 7: Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam
Morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. With picnic lunch drive back to Dar es Salaam (B,L)
With 3,230 square kilometers coverage Mikumi National Park is well-known park in Tanzania. The park is well-known for its population of elephants, giraffes buffaloes, zebras, elands, greater Kudu, wildebeest, roan and sable antelope. Predators include tree-climbing lions (which are in large number), leopards, wild hunting dogs and black-backed jackal. More than 300 species of birds have been recorded here including Eurasian migrants such as red billed oxpecker, marabou stork and lilac breasted roller.
