Notes on Gorilla tracking
- Gorilla trekking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour.
- Minimum gorilla tracking age is 15 years.
- Minimum chimpanzee tracking age is 12 years
- Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will NOT be allowed to track.
- While possession of a gorilla permit is a guarantee of trekking and sighting the gorillas, the quality of the gorilla trekking cannot be guaranteed.
- Maximum time allowed with the gorillas will NOT exceed ONE hour.
We strongly recommend the following:
- Rain poncho (lightweight)
- Long-sleeved shirt
- Waterproof trousers
- Sturdy hiking boots
- Leather gardening -type gloves
- Insect repellent and any necessary medications must be brought by you either from your home town or Kampala.
- Still Cameras and Camcorders are allowed, but bring batteries and film from your home town or Kampala.
Bwindi area is located at 1160 – 2607 meters above sea level and is chilly early morning and evening. While trekking, it can rain unexpectedly, hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including zip lock bags for cameras and film. You will also need boots that can cope with some mud.
Kindly note that to book Gorilla permits is subject to availability and payment. For cases of lack of availability in a requested Gorilla group, we shall suggest an alternative and communicate any changes in the program.

- We may have to reroute the itinerary or accommodate in similar lodges in case of non-availability.
- Prices may be changed without prior notice. This is beyond our control and any increase levied will be passed to you for park fees and government taxes.
PASSENGER INFORMATION
- Passengers should bring soft sided bags on safaris as our vehicles have limited luggage space.
- All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for any internal flights.
- Baggage on internal flights is strictly limited to 15kgs per person (including hand luggage). Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
- Passengers arriving in UGANDA will be asked to present a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate.
DAY 1: Arrival in Uganda, optional activities in Entebbe Town.
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport ,you will be received and transferred to the lodge by our safari guide. You will relax at the lodge or choose to do optional activities depending on your time of arrival. These optional activities include; a city tour, visit to the fishing village, biking, visit to the zoo or a half day visit to Ngamba islands. Entebbe was the colonialists’ administrative center and has many buildings that date over half a century ago. The name Entebbe means “the chair” in Luganda, which is the local language of the area. You may also choose to visit Entebbe botanical gardens or Uganda Wildlife Education centre (Entebbe Zoo).

DAY 2: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park; evening game drive
After an early breakfast, you will start your journey to Queen Elizabeth National park. Enjoy the long drive through the green countryside and many photo opportunities. You will also stop at the equator along the way. Upon arrival in the park, you will take an evening game drive to explore the park. Enjoy the search for lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, antelopes, hyenas, baboons and a host of birds species in the savannah. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to explore.

DAY 3: Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon boat ride
After an early breakfast you will drive to Kyambura gorge overlooking the Great Rift Valley for chimpanzees in the forestedpart of Queen Elizabeth national park. This area is a favorite for primates most especially the large populations of Chimpanzee. The walk will be led and guarded by rangers who will give you more information about the primates. Along the way you may encounter other apes like monkeys, buffaloes, antelopes and many birds’ species. After tracking you will return to the main part of the park for lunch and afterwards you will take an afternoon boat ride on Kazinga channel where you will be able to watch animals quench their afternoon thirst. In the evening you will relax at your accommodation.

DAY 4: Drive to Bwindi NP via Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast you willdrive to Ishasha Area of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will have a game drive in search of the famous tree climbing lions and large herds of animals. The scenic beauty, the size of the euphorbias and combination of riverine forest, Savannah plain and equatorial forest makes this a memorable place, only found in Africa. You will be assisted by a ranger guide to track the big cats. Afterwards you will proceed to Bwindi national park passing through the picturesque countryside. Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is an ultra-thick jungle that is home to the endangered mountain Gorillas.

DAY 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
Begin your gorilla trek in the early morning, and set off into the tangled and mist-shrouded forests with guides and trackers who are very experienced at locating the gorillas by finding the nest the family had used the previous night. The search for these majestic animals goes through thick untamed rainforest, where you’ll be scrambling over mossy rocks and through deep undergrowth and it can be arduous at times, but the encounter is worth the effort. Watching gorillas in their natural habitat is a memory that will last a lifetime.
The experienced ranger guides will willingly share with you a lot of information about history and lifestyle of the Gorillas. After spending an hour with the gorillas we head back to the lodge and relax.

DAY 6: Return to Entebbe, departure
After an early breakfast, you will start you long return journey to Entebbe airport by road. Enjoy the beautiful view of “The Switzerland of Uganda” along the way. You will arrive in Entebbe in the evening and check in for your departure flight back home. An option of a flight from Kisoro to Entebbe is also available at a surcharge indicated in the prices section.

TERMS OF PAYMENTS
- After issuance of invoice, 40% deposit to be received after 14 days so as we can secure the booking.
- 60% of the balance to be received 30 days before first day of service.
- All prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and must be paid in U.S. dollars cash, or wire transfer.
- Where credit cards (visa, mastercard) are used, we impose a 3.9% charge as bank suffices charges.
- For wire transfer we do not impose any charges but bank charges must be sufficed by you.
- All the payments should be FREE FROM BANK CHARGES.
TERMS OF CANCELLATION
Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to Cancellation fee. Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing, and shall only be effective upon its receipt and acknowledgment.
The following cancellation fee will be subject to cancelled bookings:
- 14 days or Less prior to arrival date: 100%
- More than 14 days but less than 30 days: 50%
- More than 30 Days but less than 45 days: 20%
- More than 45 days: 0%
No refund will be given to the following:
- Itinerary Amended After Departure.
- There will be no refunds from African Adventure Specialists Ltd for any unused portions of the tour.
- Lost Travel Time or Substitution of Facilities.
- No tour refund is available should you fail to join a tour or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion.
