The Maasai Mara National Reserve holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. You will definitely be enticed with its sights and sounds. You will hear animals howling, birds chirping and the mighty Mara River flowing across the savannah bringing life to the reserve. Arrive in time for lunch at the Ashnil Mara Camp, and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 3: Full-day to explore to Maasai Mara National Reserve
The day starts start with breakfast at the camp and later a full day spent exploring the reserve in search of the big 5. Take full advantage of what the Mara has to offer. You travel west through the Kenya’s fertile highlands, then suddenly to your left, the trees’ part to reveal a spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley, with dormant Longonot volcano taking centre stage. Your panoramic journey will then take you past Lake Naivasha, with its Crescent Island and onto Lake Nakuru. The lake is often coloured by a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Once in the park, there will be a game drive enroute to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.
Optional Early Morning balloon safari ride (US$450.00 per person) across the Masai Mara plain. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Maasai Mara is an extension of the Serengeti ecosystem to the south. Game abounds here; The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. See the great Migration where over 1.5 million wildebeest and other antelopes crossing the mighty Mara River. Experience the battle between survival and hunger. You are also likely to see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky leopard, cheetah and rhino. All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, and enjoy yourselves! In the evening visit Maasai village at an extra cost payable direct. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

The drive via farming country and local homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment floor is scenically arriving in time into your lodge for check-in, lunch at 1300hrs and some rest. Later you will depart in the afternoon and drive to the park for game drives. The Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, famed for the Flamingos, both lesser and greater, that flock to its shores to feed on the cyanobacteria that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding ground and stop over for many species of birds, and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At some times of the year, there can be between one and two million flamingos forming a big pink band around the edge of the Lake. The Park is home to one of the greatest concentrations of Black Rhino in the World and also has a thriving population of White Rhino. It is also a sanctuary for the rare Rothschild Giraffe. With luck, you may spot a leopard, which is rather elusive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
