TERMS & CONDITIONS
Given the current environment, we’ve done our best to ensure that you can plan your safari with complete confidence through our flexible booking terms. For new bookings, these are as follows:
New bookings for travel completed between January 2021 to 15th December 2021 have the following terms and conditions:
Payment terms;
- . After issuance of invoice, 30% deposit to be received after 14 days so as we can secure the booking.
- 60% of the amount (balance) to be received 30 days before clients’ arrival.
- all prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and must be paid in U.S. dollars cash, or wire transfer.
- Where credit cards (visa, mastercard) are used, we impose a 3.5% charge as bank suffices charges.
- for wire transfer we do not impose any charges but bank charges must be sufficed by you.
- all the payments should be FREE FROM BANK CHARGES.
Cancellation terms;
- More than 60 days before arrival, the deposit is refunded, net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges and an admin fee of 3% of the booking value.
- Between and 60 days and 45 Days prior to arrival, 20% of the full value of your trip is forfeited, the balance will be net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges.
- Between 45 days and 30 days, 30% of the full value of your trip is forfeited, the balance will be net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges.
- Between 30 days and 21 days, 50% of the full value of your trip is forfeited, the balance will be net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges.
- Less than 21 days, and no shows, 100% is forfeited.
- No refund will be given for guests who join a tour but leave before its completion.
Should your country of residence or Kenya close its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic, or a guest should become diagnosed with COVID-19* the following ‘COVID-19 cancellation’ terms will apply: Refusing to undergo the COVID-19 test/s or the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination the below offer will not be applicable;
- More than 120 days before arrival, the 30% deposit is refunded, net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges and an admin fee of 3% of the booking value.
- Between 120 and 46 days prior to arrival, the 30% deposit will be held in the form of a non-refundable credit note valid for 24 months from the date of issue.
- Between 45 days and 30 days, 50% of the full value will be held in the form of a non-refundable credit note valid for 24 months from the date of issue. Any further balance to be refunded will be net of bank/payment transaction/currency exchange charges.
- Less than 30 days, and no shows, or leaving a tour before completion – 100% is forfeited, BUT African Adventure Specialists Ltd will supply the guest with a non-refundable credit note with a validity of 24 months that can be used against a future booking.
*An official doctor’s note (verified, stamped and signed) and proof of residency will need to be supplied to claim the amended COVID-19 terms.

Day 1: Arrival – Nairobi
Karibu! Your Kenyan safari adventure begins in Nairobi, where you will be met at the airport by African Adventure Specialists representative upon arrival at the airport, and after transfer to your hotel the Giraffe Manor to arrive in time for check-in and lunch. This gorgeous manor boasts classic European elegance, with ivy-covered walls, verdant gardens, and sun-drenched terraces. However, the most fascinating thing about Giraffe Manor is its herd of resident Rothschild giraffe who may visit in the morning and evening, sometimes poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat, before retreating to their forest sanctuary. Spend the night at this wonderfully unique hotel, where you’ll have an opportunity to feed and kiss the friendly giraffes.

Day 2: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
After an early breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to Wilson Airport and fly to the Amboseli region of south-eastern Kenya, which is famous for its scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape, and open plains. Upon arrival you will be picked up by the camps driver guide and transfer your Camp with a short game drive to the camp, check in, have lunch and a short rest. Afternoon game drive at the park later dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park
Day spent viewing game starting with a morning and afternoon game drive. In between game drives we relax by the pool side followed by lunch and final game drive in the late afternoon.
Amboseli (392 sq. km) is not a big park but supported by swamp vegetation it harbours elephants, buffaloes, hippos, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, gazelles, wildebeests, warthogs, zebras, ostriches and Maasai giraffes in the background of the magnificent snow caped Mt. Kilimanjaro. The waters from melted snow find their way down the mountain under lava flows and surface on the Amboseli plains in form of swamps.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, check-out and proceed to drive to the airstrip for flight back to Nairobi. On arrival connect your flight to Samburu. You will be picked up from the Airstrip on arrival in Samburu transfer from the airstrip to the Lodge for check in and lunch. Relax and enjoy great views from your room before your afternoon game drive starts at 1500hrs till late in the evening by 1800hrs and drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Explore Samburu National Reserve
Today, the full day is dedicated to enjoying the unique beauty of the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu National Reserve is a Kenyan less visited Game Reserve. It is relatively small in size compared to other Kenyan parks but it has more to offer as well as several endangered species. It is the home to the unique rare species only found north of the equator that includes the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe-necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich and it is also home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise – Endangered. There are over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Ewaso Nyiro River including, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches, and others. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 6: Samburu – Maasai Mara National Park
This morning your will transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi, Wilson Airport where you will connect with the scheduled flight to the Maasai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Upon arrival you will be met by the Camp’s representative, of which you could opt to walk to the Camp which is not far from the airstrip as your luggage will be taken by car to the camp, as you experience nature in the wild. Maasai Mara is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. When you arrive in the camp you will have lunch and, in the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon game drive on which you enjoy sights of animals such as wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and many more. In the evening you have dinner and stay overnight stay.

Day 7 – Day 8: Full-day Exploring Maasai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, go for a full day game drive in the park until evening. Picnic lunch will be served at a picnic site as you watch hippos and crocodile in the Masai Mara River. The Masai Mara is one of the most famous ecosystems in the world. This huge expanse of grassland is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, zebra, crocodile, ostrich, hyena, rhino, cheetah, leopard, and lion. Between mid-august to late October, one of the greatest spectacles on Earth takes place in the Maasai Mara – the annual wildebeest migration. Over one million wildebeest are joined by zebra and gazelle as they move into the reserve seeking fresh grazing. Nothing is guaranteed on safari, but with the help of the brilliant guides, you should see and learn a huge amount about the resident wildlife as you drive through the park. Afternoon visit Maasai tribesmen in their villages for an up-close cultural tour.
Apart from the full-day game drives, you could opt for an optional Early Morning balloon safari ride (US$450.00 per person) across the Maasai Mara plain. Breakfast at the lodge then enjoy morning and afternoon game drives. Later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Maasai Mara – Nairobi / Depart
Morning game drive in the reserve. After lunch a short rest and transfer to the Airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi. Transfer on arrival to your hotel or airport for onward arrangements.

- All the payments should be FREE FROM BANK CHARGES.
TERMS OF CANCELLATION
Reservations that are cancelled, reduced in length of stay or reduced in numbers are subject to Cancellation fee. Any cancellation of a reservation must be in writing, and shall only be effective upon its receipt and acknowledgment.
The following cancellation fee will be subject to cancelled bookings:
- 14 days or Less prior to arrival date: 100%
- More than 14 days but less than 30 days: 50%
- More than 30 Days but less than 45 days: 20%
- More than 45 days: 0%
No refund will be given to the following:
- Itinerary Amended After Departure.
- There will be no refunds from African Adventure Specialists Ltd for any unused portions of the tour.
- Lost Travel Time or Substitution of Facilities.
- No tour refund is available should you fail to join a tour or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion.
We strongly recommend that you secure trip and cancellation insurance.
